About Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is Taiwan’s principal international gateway and the main airport used by international travelers visiting Taipei. Despite its TPE airport code and strong association with Taipei, the airport is physically located in Dayuan District, Taoyuan City. Current Taiwan AIP data places the airport reference point approximately 30.9 km west of Taipei City.

For arriving passengers, this distinction matters because Taipei, Taoyuan and destinations elsewhere in northern Taiwan require different onward journeys.
